MARKER This house has no windows It’s cluttered and stained on the inside The door is lost in commotion In commotion Spring time has passed me by The Summer has come and gone This house built on misery Has left me inside There are no knocks on the door No life in sight but my own The life I was born to live To live The Spring time has passed me by The Summer has come and gone This house built on misery Has left me inside This house has no windows It’s cluttered and stained on the inside The door is lost in commotion In commotion The Spring time has passed me by The Summer has come and gone This house built on misery Has left me inside, it’s left me inside Oh, inside, oh. Inside. Inside.

LA BAJADA Summer waits We rely on the ground that was our sky Now a new sky hangs above our heads When I close my eyes all I see is red Is it in our past Is it okay if we ask… …why is our love… Hidden and suspicious Your lips taste delicious in my mind Hollow and seductive I know I’ll find comfort over time Is this what we want To die alone Is this what we want To die… I lie in sand Don’t know how I got here or how I’ll stand But now the tide will rise above our heads When I close my eyes all I see is red Is it in our past Is it okay if we ask… …why is our love… Hidden and suspicious Your lips taste delicious in my mind Hollow and seductive I know I’ll find comfort over time Is this what we want To die alone Is this what we want To die alone

about

What began as an outlet from working-life in New York, transformed in 2020 into a life-force for three people struggling through an inexorable descent. The songs were forged in the space known as “568”, and together, slowed and drained of their aggression, they reached a valley with a new sound. What emerged from that chrysalis is the first single from NYC’s La Bajada, “Marker”.

La Bajada is named after a mesa in-between Santa Fe and Albuquerque New Mexico. While the descent is now a five lane highway on I-25 it was once such a treacherous journey that it became the cultural dividing line between Southern and Northern New Mexico. Three friends from opposite sides of that divide found each other in New York and began writing music together. Their debut single, “Marker” explores loneliness and growth with an expansiveness which echoes from the vast Southwestern skies, and the drive of a tractor trailer.
